From volume XCIII 2006 onwards, all contributions submitted to “Eos” (for the “Commentationes” and “Miscellanea” sections) are accepted for publication only after being peer-reviewed by anonymous external referees. The editors take particular care that there is no conflict of interest which would affect the integrity of the evaluation. A written report by a referee should contain a clearly stated conclusion indicating one of the four options:
(1) the paper in question deserves to be published in its present form;
(2) the paper may be published after some minor revisions;
(3) the paper needs substantial revision and has to be re-submitted for another peer-review;
(4) the paper should not be published.
